Recently, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and the Ministry of Justice and Lawyers Association of China jointly issued the Decision on Circulating a Notice of Commending Outstanding Collectives and Individuals in Serving Migrant Workers Public Legal Service Campaign of "Abiding by the Laws · Building a Dream Together" (the "Decision"). Zeng Jiakui, a partner from Tiandiren, was awarded the "Outstanding Individual in Serving Migrant Workers Public Legal Service Campaign of “Abiding by the Laws · Building a Dream Together”.

From 2012 to the present, Mr. Zeng has been serving as the duty lawyer of the public legal service team of Hunan Federation of Trade Unions and Changsha Federation of Trade Unions. In 2016, Mr. Zeng, together with his colleagues, founded Labour and Human Resources Legal Service Department, which actively carried out and deeply participated in rule of law publicity and education. As a lecturer of Law Dissemination Lecturers Group of Hunan Federation of Trade Unions, and Training School for Female Workers of Changsha Federation of Trade Unions, he led the team to participate in more than 100 activities of law publicity and education, such as law dissemination and lectures, bringing laws to communities and construction sites, which were organized by Hunan Federation of Trade Unions, Changsha Federation of Trade Unions and other trade unions at all levels, with more than 20,000 audiences.

In the past decade, Mr. Zeng Jiakui and his team have provided more than 50 legal aid cases to migrant workers and employees, and handled more than 700 labour dispute cases, recovering losses of over 40 million yuan for the employees.

In the process of the fight against the COVID-19 in 2020, Mr. Zeng led the CPC branch and his team members to participate in the activities such as "Anti-COVID-19 Public Legal Service Group" organized by Judicial Bureau of Yuelu District. Meanwhile, as the deputy director of the Labor and Social Security Committee of Hunan Lawyers Association, he also served as the contact person of the Legal Consulting Service Working Group of Hunan Lawyers Association for Epidemic Prevention and Control. The Notices of Employment by Enterprises in Hunan During the Period of the Novel Coronavirus Epidemic drafted by him was sent out on the WeChat official account of Hunan Lawyers Association, and was read by more than 14,000 times.

Mr. Zeng said that he was honored to be awarded this award, which not only belonged to an individual, but also an affirmation of numerous lawyers that provide public legal services. "I will continue to work hard, more actively devote myself to public legal service activities to serve migrant workers, and play a greater role and make greater achievements in protecting their legitimate rights and interests and building harmonious labour relations."
